Remembering in Yorkshire

On Rememberance Sunday we decided last minute to take a trip up to Oliver's Mount, Scarborough to see the War Memorial there, it bears the name of Phil's Great-Grandfather who died during the last weeks of WWI.  There are some absolutely stunning views over Scarborough from the top :o)

We decided we would travel in Kitty in order that we could stop off en-route and also overnight and so stagger the journey.

Our first stop was for breakfast in one of the Wetherspoon's in Hull (there are 4!!) we were lucky to have some vouchers that gave us bacon buns and a cup of tea for £1.50 each.

The Zachariah Pearson, Kingston-upon-Hull

The Prior John, Bridlington  -  a loo break!
(this pub was actually purpose built as a Wetherspoon's - it has an amazing glass dome roof!)

The Lord Rosebery, Scarborough
(tea-time!!)

On the Monday morning we realised we had run out of gas as we had had to use the heating overnight, this meant we couldn't even boil a kettle!  As we still had some vouchers left we decided that another breakfast courtesy of Wetherspoon's was in order, especially for a much needed morning cuppa!!  We stopped off in Driffield.

The Benjamin Fawcett, Driffield

Cheers for now,
Phil & Stefanie :o)

(Wetherspoons count 22 + 4 = 26)
